Ginger's Journey Ch. 1

A white and orange kit lay at the stomach of a white and gray she-cat. "I'll be back soon" Jake said and left. Opal looked at her only kit, Ginger. She hadn't had any other kits, just Ginger, But she was happy with only Ginger. She turned her attention back to the kit, as it yawned and its eyes fluttered open. "Hi momma, where's Jake?" asked the little kit. "He went out hunting, we need our strength for tonight" Opal answered. Ginger got up and looked around the abandoned twoleg shed. "Where's the moss ball?" Ginger asked, tilting her head. "Last time you used it, you tore it up." Opal said, laughing a bit. "Oh yeah..." Ginger walked up to Opal and started batting her tail. "Opal i'm booored, what can I do?" the kit said "Be patient and wait for your father to come back" Opal answered. "I can't be patient" "Why?" "Because I'm out of patience, I used it all" Opal sighed. will i ever win with her? Opal thought.

Opal looked up as a figure walked through the door. He was carrying a bird and a squirrel. Ginger jumped up and ran to him. "Finally your back! I was soooo bored" Ginger said to her father. Jake laughed. "Opal had nothing for you to do?" "Nope". "Well, I've brought back some prey. You and Opal will share the squirrel. How about you take it to her?" Ginger nodded, picked up the squirrel, and trotted over to her mother. "What do you have there?" Opal asked her kit. "A squirrel for us to share" the kit answered. All the cats ate their prey and looked outside. "Its close to moonhigh, we should be going." Jake stated and started out of the twoleg shed. Opal and Ginger followed. The three cats started walking down the sidewalk, knowing that they might never return to the shed again
